Henley & Partners: 22 people in the world have accumulated cryptocurrency worth more than $1 billion


 

More than 88 thousand investors own crypto-assets worth $1 million or more.

There are 22 people in the world whose cryptocurrency assets are estimated at least $1 billion. Six of them hold assets in bitcoin (BTC), according to a study by Henley & Partners.

According to calculations of its experts, crypto assets worth $1 million are owned by 88.2 thousand investors, that is, about 0.02% of the total number of users of cryptocurrency (425 million people). About 40.5 thousand of them hold their investments in bitcoins.

Henley & Partners estimates that there are 182 owners of crypto-wealths of $100 million or more in the world, of which 78 hold their money in BTC. The global cryptocurrency market capitalization at the time of publication is $1.1 trillion, according to Coingecko.

Forbes previously named the four owners of Tether, the issuer of the USDT stablecoin, as dollar billionaires. If the company is sold, its four owners could realize a total of $9 billion in proceeds.
