Users of the P2P platform will be able to withdraw their assets within a year
Cryptoservice LocalBitcoins has announced its closure. The P2P platform, which has been operating for more than 10 years, has not been able to overcome all the difficulties of the crypto winter and is forced to stop its activities, it said in a statement to customers.
LocalBitcoins is a Finnish fiat currency to bitcoin exchange platform founded in 2012. According to the company's website, LocalBitcoins had an annual trading volume of about $2.3 billion. The service had 8 million customers from 190 countries and supported more than 150 payment methods.
Since February 9, the platform stopped registering new users. Trading and all transactions in LocalBitcoins cryptocurrency wallet except for withdrawals will be stopped on February 16.
